Who ever it was that told me to watch Gantz.... wtf?! Totally bizarre. They killed off basically the entire cast and then had a horrible ending which made little sense. It was a good anime, but at the same time, pathetic. What was the point they were trying to make? Don't kill yourself? or... Don't be nice to people because you'll end up dead? I don't understand. Someone justify this anime, please, because I just didn't get it. -Dune  |

ya i saw on a amv video on youtube that gantz is a great anime to watch if you like elfen lied along with higurashi well...... gantz ya....... I HATED IT imo pointless violence and nudity and just wayyyyyyy too depressing......... there was no point to it =\ tho higurashi imo was ok just took to long to get to what was actually happening and you are kinda like wtf through the whole first season |

I'm not saying it was bad. It was definitely different. Not anything close to what I felt for Elfen Lied though. There was a lot of gore, violence, meaningless death, nudity, etc. It was mostly in good taste though, with a few exceptions. The only comparison to Elfen Lied that I can fathom is if you took Elfen Lied, removed the romance, removed any heartfelt emotions, added sex and killed off 90% of the cast. Not saying Gantz was a bad anime, it just had little to no comparison to Elfen Lied. Am I glad you suggested it? Sure! I would watch it again in a heartbeat if I felt it was something I wanted to watch, but would I put it in the same realm as Elfen Lied? Hardly. On a scale of 1-10, I would put Gantz with a 9, but on a totally different scale from Elfen Lied. Not even on the same page. It's like apples and oranges. Anyways, I think I was mostly upset with there being little purpose behind the whole of the anime. I just didn't quite understand what their point was. Like with Elfen Lied, there was a romance mixed into a psycological thriller, with deep ties to personal differences making people vicious and hateful of the unknown. While Gantz? Uh... well... The only thing I could grasp... was possibly... Don't kill yourself because life is worth fighting for? (Which doesn't entirely fit since a lot of the people didn't kill themselves, not even the main character.) I'm at a loss really. Maybe I need to stop trying to analyze it and just enjoy it as a weird sci-fi ? I don't know. -Dune |

Elfen Lied is very unique therefore I hardly would recommend you any anime similar to it. Besides, you asked an anime with something in common with it and, as you said, Gantz has a lot of gore and nudity. That can be considered to common points between them.

what i got from it was that even tho gantz was horrible and fuckin with peoples lives humans were the real monsters and i also got from the ending not to run from your fate?!? mabye?? idk |
