I've been a PC user for pretty much my whole life. I am very knowledgable with Windows products and OSs, but ever since the iPhone hit Canada I've had one and must say that it is very useful. In my view I'd say the iPhone is the best of all the smartphones on the market. Thanks to the app store you can pretty much find an application to do anything. I use an app that lets me connect to my computers on the Internet and use them as if I was sitting in front of them. I also own an iPad and it's pretty fantastic. It's basically a larger version of the iPhone, but with more space and power. I find I'm using it more than my laptop. I've yet to use an Apple laptop or desktop but plan to get one after they update their hardware for the Macbook Pro line. |

Apple is overrated. Their iPods are ok, but the software used to run them- iTunes is garbage. Nothing is really special about a mac except for the fact that you can't run everything on it that you could on Windows, oh and Mac only goes up to a dual core processor when 8 core just was released. I wish I could edit this site to fix shit

I think apple is way better than windows. Used both, have to say overall Mac is faster and runs things more smoothly. It's also smaller which can be handy at times. My laptop though, is the only non-mac computer/laptop at my house (Mostly because when I brought my laptop Steam didn't support Macs).
My dream in life is unobtainable, but that doesn't mean I'll stop striving for it.

I can say I was in the same dilemma as you, but I decided to give things a shot even though I owned an iPhone 4 at the time. Now that I've had it for awhile it's totally been worth it. I'm by no means an Apple fanboy. I know the true computing power of a Mac could never be matched by custom built PCs, but Apple products still have their place in the world. It really all depends what you'd like to use the iPad for. I use ity mostly for productivity apps, such as pages, numbers, and keynote. Those combined with a bluetooth keyboard and you've got yourself a fairly flexible hybrid laptop if you will. In my experience the iPad is too bulky to be a good music player and dalunk is right, iTunes sucks. DRM music and videos? No thanks. Yet, with a little tweaking iTunes can be avoided entirely. Lastly, the battery on the iPad is incredible! I can easily get 10 hrs or more out of it doing pretty much anything I want it to do. Hope that helps you a little bit in deciding. |

With this it boils down to what I'm used to. I have grown up with Microsoft and Windows my entire life, so I am very much accustomed to the way they run. I do, however, very much enjoy Apple product. I own an Iphone, Itouch, and several older ipods. I hoping to get a Macbook Pro for Christmas this year, but not to replace my Windows Computer. Instead I am going to get it and use it to record and produce music, which i hear Macbooks are really good at doing. I hope this is the case, since the computers and Logic Pro Studio are not cheap, that being the only real tiff i have with Apple.
